Dr Mathew Davies is head of the International Relations Department at the ANU. His work focuses on the intersection of human rights, regional orders and international relations theory, with a particular interest in the Asia-Pacific.

Christopher Hobson is an Associate Professor at the School of Political Science and Economics, Waseda University. He is the author of The Rise of Democracy: Revolution, War and Transformations in International Politics since 1776 (Edinburgh University Press, 2015). He has published articles in a range of journals and has co-edited a number of volumes, including most recently: Human Security and Natural Disasters (Routledge, 2014) and Human Security and Japan’s Triple Disaster (Routledge, 2014).
