A Theoretical and Experimental Analysis of the Rigid Journal Bearing With a Convex Surface

Pages 157-163 | Published online: 25 Mar 2008

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of radial bearings with convex bearing surfaces of optimal shape. The theoretical and experimental investigations presented illustrate the method of solving the problem of selection of the bush shape, depending on the spatial slope and the deformation of the journal axis. The detailed theoretical solution concern the case of the two-dimensional deformation of the journal. The numerical solution has been verified experimentally, agreement of the results having been achieved.
