Abstract
This article explores the many facets that combine to create a school’s culture. Although each school has its own unique culture, a set of predictable categories, when taken together under certain circumstances, create a particular school environment. It is possible, then, to evaluate a school’s Web site in light of these cultural components. This information could be useful to preservice teachers who are preparing for field experiences and to certified teachers who are researching schools and school districts for employment. Using technology to better understand a school’s culture before entering the building not only grounds teachers in the ways of that school, but also allows them to begin the process of becoming members of that culture in a time-efficient manner.
