Abstract

A novel SIM version is proposed and demonstrated for isomer-specific analysis of target chemical compounds in complex mixtures by GC/MS. The results GC/MS analyses of PACs and of other organic contaminant in natural waters, sediments and soils are presented and discussed for some West Siberia areas. PAH concentrations varied from 0.05 to 3.35 and from 0.025 to 18.5 μg/L in surface and ground waters, respectively. Total PAH content in sediments of Tom River basin varied from 0.21 to 23.75 mg/kg. Oil degradation processes have been investigated and compared under natural factors in West Siberia and in model biodegradation experiments.
