ABSTRACT

Lactic acid, as a biological, eco-friendly, and inexpensive compound, efficiently catalyzed the synthesis of 8,10-dimethyl-12-aryl-12H-naphtho[1′,2′:5,6]pyrano[2,3-d] pyrimidine-9,11-dione derivatives by an efficient one-pot, three-component reaction between aromatic aldehydes, β-naphthol, and 6-amino-1,3-dimethyl uracil at 100°C under solvent-free conditions. The benefits of the reaction are good yields, simple procedure, short reaction time, easy work-up, and cleaner reaction profiles.
