Abstract
A simple and efficient procedure has been developed for the one-pot synthesis of a series of novel benzochromene derivatives by the multicomponent reaction of 1-naphthol, aromatic aldehydes and benzenesulfonyl acetonitrile under microwave irradiation, using piperidine as catalyst and ethanol as solvent. This methodology was shown many advantages, including higher reaction yields, broad substrate scopes, experimental simplicity, short time and easily available starting materials. The synthesized compounds are characterized by 1H NMR and HR-ESI-MS.
