Abstract

Fe3O4@SiO2 phosphonic acid nanoparticles are prepared to perform as a new and reusable acid catalyst for the one-pot synthesis of Biginelli products. One of the unique advantages of the catalyst is its simple and convenient synthesis, and that it is certified based on the results of FT-IR, XRD, TGA, TEM, SEM, EDX and VSM analysis. The catalyst may be recovered from the reaction mixture through the application of an external magnet and was found to be capable of repeated reuse without significant loss of activity.
