Abstract

A Green, efficient and clean route for synthesis of biologically potent pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives has been developed in excellent yield, by using biodegradable ionic liquid 1-ethyl 3-methyl imidazolium acetate [(EMIM)Ac)] as a green catalyst via one-pot four-component condensation reaction of ethyl-acetoacetate, hydrazine-hydrate, malononitrile and carbonyl compounds at reflux condition in ethanol. The striking features of the protocol are a cleaner reaction profile, mild experimental procedure, applicable to extensive range of substrates and short reaction time.
