Abstract
Dissipative particle dynamics with energy conservation (eDPD) was applied to study mixed convection. The study covered a wide range of Richardson number using air as the working fluid. The eDPD simulations were benchmarked against finite volume solutions, and it was found that the eDPD approach reproduces the correct temperature and flow fields throughout the flow domain. The eDPD results were presented by means of temperature isotherms, streamlines, velocity contours, velocity vectors, temperature, and velocity profiles.
