MARKOV ANALYSIS OF RADIATIVE TRANSFER IN ENCLOSURES WITH BIDIRECTIONAL REFLECTIONS

Abstract

This paper uses Markov chains in the modeling of radiative heat transfer in enclosures consisting of bidirectionally reflecting surfaces containing nonparticipating gases. After a brief review of previous literature in that area of investigation, bidirectional reflectivity functions are discussed. Two enclosure geometries are then modeled, and the paper concludes with a report of selected implementation results
