NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF ADVECTION-DIFFUSION IN THE CONTINUUM WITH THIN CANAL

Abstract

A mathematical model of heat and mass transfer in a two-dimensional continuum with thin canal is obtained. The so-called multifield model is described by a system of differential equations, which have different dimensions on the space variables. The finite element and finite difference methods are used for numerical analysis of the corresponding initial boundary value problem. Numerical results for the case of small Péclet numbers are presented in the form of figures.
