Abstract
A new method is proposed to accelerate the convergence rate for the SIMPLER algorithm by artificially changing the underrelaxation term to match the dependent variable to be solved. Based on this idea, a new pressure-correction equation is derived, and the modified algorithm is named MSIMPLER. Five numerical experiments show that the MSIMPLER algorithm can appreciably enhance the convergence rate for cases of low and moderate underrelaxation factors with good robustness.
