Simulation of Transient, Multiphase, Axial Dispersion Model for Mass Transfer Operations

Abstract

The partial differential equations together with the initial and boundary conditions that describe the transient, multiphase, axial dispersion model for mass transfer operations are given in a fairly general format. Results of the numerical solution by the method of lines are presented graphically for the case of isothermal gas absorption accompanied by nonlinear fast chemical reactions. The effects of each parameter are discussed.
