Training and/or education—the new equilibrium

Abstract

This work attempts a brief examination of the process of the fundamental shift in public values from education to youth training, the new equilibrium between training and education and the hidden agenda behind the government's paradigm of ‘training’, the Youth Training Scheme. It attempts to differentiate the concepts of broad based vocational education and ‘training’ and concludes with an uncertain view of the future.
