The Chemical Composition of the Essential Leaf Oil of Helichrysum odoratissimum Sweet from Zimbabwe

ABSTRACT

The essential oil of Helichrysum odoratissimum Sweet from Zimbabwe obtained by hydrodistillation of the fresh leaves was analyzed by GC/MS. Sixty-four compounds could be identified with α-pinene (15.0%), α-humulene (13.0%), β-caryophyllene (9.6%), elemol (8.7%), β-himachalene (8.2%) and 1,8-cineole (7.7%) as main components.
