ABSTRACT

The chemical composition of the steam-distilled leaf/twig oils, which were produced from Psidium luridum (Spreng.) Burr, and P. incanum (Berg.) Burr, growing wild in Uruguay, were investigated by GC and GC/MS. The major constituents of both oils were 1,8-cineole (36.56% and 30.96%) and linalool (12.38% and 11.50%) for P. luridum and P. incanum respectively.
