ABSTRACT
The chemical composition of the essential oil of Aloysia triphylla (syn. Lippia citriodora (Ortega ex Pers.) Humb., Bonpl. et Kunth) (Verbenaceae), which was produced by steam distillation of air-dried plants cultivated in Morocco for export, was determined by GC and GC/MS. The main components of the oil were 1,8-cineole (12.4%), geranial (9.9%), 6-methyl-5-hepten-2-one (7.4%) and neral (6.9%).
