Composition of the Essential Oil from the Bark of Fagara macrophylla

Abstract

The chemical composition of the bark oil obtained from Fagara macrophylla collected in Guinea, was determined by GC and GC/MS. Fourteen components were detected, mainly sesquiterpenes. Germacrene B (23.5%), methyl linoleate (8.3%), γ-elemene (5.4%) and germacrone (4.5%) were identified as major constituents.
