Analysis of the Essential Oil of Echinophora sibthorpiana Guss. by Means of GC, GC/MS and 13C-NMR Techniques

Abstract

The essential oil of Echinophora sibthorpiana Guss.(Umbelliferae) collected from Iran, was analyzed by means of GC, GC/MS, 13C-NMR, and in the case of major constituents, 1H-NMR spectroscopy techniques were used for identity confirmation. The main constituents identified in this oil were methyl eugenol (50.4%), α-phellandrene (16.3%), δ-3-carene (17.4%), p-cymene (8.3%) and β-phellandrene (3.7%).
