Abstract
The chemical composition of the hydrodistilled fruit oil of Biota orientalis (L.) Endl, was examined by GC and GC/MS. Of the 25 constituents present in the oil, 17 were identified in which eight were monoterpene hydrocarbons (88.4%), four oxygenated monoterpenes (3.4%), three sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (2.1%), and two oxygenated sesquiterpenes (3.0%); α-pinene was the major constituents of the oil.
