Abstract
The leaf oils of two species of Acradenia were found to vary with the location of the collection. A. euodiiformis (F.Muell.) leaf gave 0.02–0.20%(w/w) of an essential oil rich in either monoterpenes (α-pinene (16%), limonene (8%) and p-cymene (13%)) or sesquiterpenes [aromadendrene (11–22%), caryophyllene oxide (4–13%), globulol (11–13%) and spathulenol (12–18%)]. A. frankliniae Kippist leaf gave 1.2–3.0% (w/w) oil containing either xanthoxylin (90%) or monoterpenes α-pinene (19–21%), camphene (13–14%), β-pinene (24–25%) and (E)-β-ocimene (8–10%) as major components.
