Abstract
The essential oil obtained by steam distillation from the leaves of Guarea macrophylla was submitted to adsorption chromatographic separation. The fractions were analyzed by GC, GC/MS, 1H- and 13C-NMR. One monoterpene, 16 sesquiterpenes and six diterpenes were identified of which ledol (13.9%) and guai-6-en-10β-ol (17.3%) were the major components.
