Abstract

Echinophora tenuifolia L. ssp. sibthorpiana (Guss.) Tutin, a member of the Umbelliferae family, is a typical aromatic plant of central Turkey. The hydrodistilled essential oil of aerial parts of the plant was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Thirty-seven compounds representing 95.7% of the oil were established. Methyl eugenol (36.6%), γ-3-carene (36.6%), p-cymene (7.6%) and α-phellandrene (6.1%) were the main components.
