Abstract
The major components identified in the leaf and fine stem oil of Aniba terminalis by GC/MS were α-phellandrene (32.8%), linalool (21.7%) and p-cymene (16.7%). The main constituents found in the inflorescence oil (also by GC/MS) were linalool (36.2%), α-phellandrene (30.7%) and (E)-β-ocimene (22.3%). Most of the components found in the oils of A. terminalis were mono- and sesquiterpenes, although benzyl benzoates and benzyl salicylate were detected in the inflorescence oil in small quantities.
