Abstract
The oils from the leaves of Hyptidendron canum and aerial parts of Hyptis velutina were analysed by GC and GC/MS. The major constituents of H. canum oil were spathulenol (11.6%), globulol (14.4%) and longiborneol (35.3%), while the oil of H. velutina contained β-caryophyllene (13.4%), bicyclogermacrene (29.3%) and γ-muurolene (47.4%) as main components.
