Aromatic Plants from Western Cuba. II. Composition of Leaf Oil of Potomorphe umbellata (L.) Miq. and Agerantina havanensis (H.B.K.) R. M. Kinget.

Abstract

The chemical composition of the leaf oils of Potomorphe umbellata (L.) Miq. and Agerantina havanensis (H.B.K.) R.M. Kinget. were studied by GC and GC/MS. Eighty-five compounds of the oil of P. umbellata were identifed of which safrole (48.7%) was the major constituent. In the oil of A. havanensis, 67 compounds were identifed of which spathulenol (28.0%) and α-cadinol (20.7%) were the major components.
