Abstract

The chemical composition of the leaf oils of Potomorphe umbellata (L.) Miq. and Agerantina havanensis (H.B.K.) R.M. Kinget. were studied by GC and GC/MS. Eighty-five compounds of the oil of P. umbellata were identifed of which safrole (48.7%) was the major constituent. In the oil of A. havanensis, 67 compounds were identifed of which spathulenol (28.0%) and α-cadinol (20.7%) were the major components.
