Abstract
The chemical composition of the volatile compounds from the root of Agdestis clematidea Moç. et Sessé ex DC. (Phytolaccaceae) was studied by GC and GC/MS. Ninety-nine compounds were identified, of which the composition of A. clematidea was characterized by many sulphur compounds, particularly dimethyl disulfide (35.1%) and dimethyl trisulfide (33.2%).
