Abstract

The chemical composition of the flower oil from Pluchea carolinensis (Jacq.) G. Don was studied by GC and GC/MS. One hundred-seven compounds of the oil were identified of which selin-11-en-4α-ol (43.4%) was the major constituent. The fresh floral character of the flower oil was characterized by the presence of several aldehydes and esters.
