H. L. Goodall, Jr. (Ph.D., Penn State, 1980), professor and director of the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication at Arizona State University. The author or coauthor of 19 books and over 100 articles, chapters, and presentations on communication, in 2003 he was awarded the Gerald M. Phillips Award for Distinguished Scholarship in Applied Communication from the National Communication Association.
