Abstract
Microwave catalyzed reaction of N-(2,3-epoxypropyl)phthalimide with H-dimethylphosphonate for 4 min yielded via free radical processes: trimethylphosphonate, trimethylphosphate, N-(2-propenyl)phthalimide, 2-(N-phthalimidopropyl) dimethylphosphinates, hydrogen 3-(N-phthalimidopropyl) methylphosphine oxide, hydrogen 3-(N-phthalimidopropyl)methylphosphinate, 2-(N-phthalimidopropyl) dimethylphosphonate, and 2-(N-phthalimidopropyl) dimethyl-phosph-inate. The mechanism of formation of the various compounds along with their mass spectral fragmentation behavior is described in this communication.
