Abstract
The mechanistic aspects of transition-metal (Ni, Pd, Pt)–catalyzed addition of E–E and E–H (E = S, Se) bonds to alkynes were investigated in detail. Our studies revealed major factors controlling selectivity of such addition reactions. New Ni- and Pd-based catalytic systems were designed to achieve various chalcogensubstituted alkenes and dienes with excellent selectivities and high yields.
