An efficient method for the synthesis of arylsulfonyl hydrazines and diazo compounds via arylsulfonyl hydrazone salts is described. The reaction was performed in DMF using hydrazonoyl chlorides and sodium arylsulfonyl hydrazones, which were easily prepared from carbonyl compounds.
