Abstract
The cyclotriphosphate BaNaP3O9.3H2O was re-investigated by X-ray diffraction and vibrational spectroscopy. Raman and infrared spectra of BaNaP3O9.3H2O have been recorded and interpreted on the basis of factor group analysis. The occurrence of the νas and νs (POP and exo-cyclic group PO2) in the vibrational spectra confirm the existence of the cycle P3O93−. The absence of coincidences for the majority of the IR and Raman bands observed for this compound is in accord with results of re-determination of centrosymmetric structure.
