ABSTRACT
Depending on the CuI halide, ligand to metal ratio, and reaction conditions, complexes with various central CuX clusters can be prepared. A series of reactions of CuI halides with PIII containing ligands was carried out in different molar ratios in different solvents, yielding new CuI complexes, which were characterized by 31P NMR and X-ray diffraction. The PIII containing ligands were based on tertiary phosphines carrying at least one organic functional group (e.g. CN, COOH) on aryl substituents. Luminescence in the complexes and its dependence on various conditions (i.e. solvent, temperature, etc.) was studied.
