ABSTRACT

Resolution methods involving the formation of diastereomeric complexes were developed for the separation of cyclic P-stereogenic phosphine oxides and phosphinates. These resolution methods are of more general value, as they can be applied also for the enantioseparation of acyclic phosphine oxides. 5- and 6-Membered cyclic phosphine oxides were deoxygenated and then converted to platinum complexes which can be applied as catalysts in enantioselective hydroformylation.
