Abstract

Recent achievements of electrochemical efficient and atom-economical catalytic methods for the formation of aromatic carbon-phosphorus bonds are summarized in this mini-review. Electrochemical reactions have several advantages over conventional chemical syntheses: mild conditions, high rates, selectivity, and convenient operational control by current density and potential applied. Electrochemical synthesis has become recognized as one of the methodologies that can fulfill several important criteria that are needed if society is to develop environmentally compatible processes because they do not require chemical redox agents and produce much less waste.
