Microwave-assisted synthesis of phosphonic and phosphinic esters and phosphine oxides by the Hirao reaction

Pages 372-376 | Received 10 Oct 2018, Accepted 02 Nov 2018, Published online: 05 Mar 2019

Abstract

Phosphinic- and phosphonic esters, as well as phosphine oxides can be easily obtained by P–C coupling reactions of aryl- and vinyl halides with dialkyl phosphites, H-phosphinates and secondary phosphine oxides in the presence of mostly Pd catalysts. The use of the microwave (MW) technique allows the realization of the Hirao reaction more efficiently, economically and environmentally-friendly.
