Synthesis of New Phosphorus Ligands and Their Reactions with Palladium (II) Halide: A Multi Nuclear NMR Study

Synthesis of new phosphorus ligands such as Ph₂PCH₃CO₂C═CHCO₂CH₃ (DMPPS) and Ph₂P(CH₃)₃CO₂CC═CHCO₂C(CH₃)₃ (DB¹PPS) in moderate to good yields by the reaction of CH-acid (nitromethane), dialkyl acetylenedicaboxylate, and chloro-diphenylphosphine, as well as their corresponding palladium (II) halide complexes [Pd(DMPPS)₂]Cl₂ (I) and [Pd(DB ^t PPS)₂]Cl₂ (II), are reported. The structures of these compounds were confirmed by IR, ¹H, ³¹P, and ¹³C NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis.
