Abstract

This paper reports the reactions of hexaalkyl phosphorous triamides (HEPTA) with chloroform, bromoform or iodoform. By the FAB-MS, ³¹P-NMR, and ¹³C-NMR study the structures of the products have been determined and a possible reaction mechanism has been proposed. Furthermore, the order of reactivity has been established to be: CHI₃ > CHBr₃ > CHCl₃.
