Abstract

Compounds 4a, 5a, 6a, 4b, 5b, 6b, 4c, 5c, 6c have been obtained from hexachlorobutene (I) or from pentachlorobutadiene 2 and dithiolates in aqueous ethanol solution at room temperature. By the reaction of 4a and 8 moles of 3-chloroperbenzoic acid in chloroform sulfone compounds 7a and 8a are obtained. If 4 moles of 3-chloroperbenzoic acid are used at the same conditions a sulfoxide compound 9a is obtained.
