Abstract
In the reaction of N,N′-dimethyl thiourea, 1 with phosphorus(III) chlorine compounds in the presence of triethylamine as an HCl acceptor the phosphorus(III) substituted derivatives, 2-9 were obtained. The compound N-diphenylphosphino-N,N′-dimethyl thiourea, 6 in solution underwent a transformation to the symmetrical compounds, N,N′-dimethyl thiourea, 1 and N,N′-diphenylphosphino-N,N′-dimethyl thiourea, 12 in the course of a few days.
The reaction of N,N′-dimethyl thiourea, 1 with di-t-butylchlorophosphine furnished the isothiourea derivative, 11. Variable temperature 1H and 13C n.m.r. spectra of 11 were investigated.
