Synthesis of a New Cu₃S₃ Heterocycle

Abstract

We report on the formation of a Cu₃S₃ heterocycle from the reaction of copper(II) bromide and the ligand [NH( ⁱ Pr₂PS)₂] bis(diisopropyldithiophosphino)amine. The single crystal X-ray structure and other spectroscopic details are presented. The molecule exists as a six membered ring which displays a single peak in its solution ₃₁P NMR though different phosphorus environments are evident in the solid state.
