Abstract

β-(3,4-Dichlorobenzoyl)−α-(phenylthio)propionic acid (2) was prepared via the treatment of β-(3,4-dichlorobenzoyl) acrylic acid (1) with thiophenol in dry benzene. The reactivity of 2 and 1 to different nucleophilic reagents was investigated, the mass spectra of some products are discussed.
