Cooperation and Conflict between Social Workers and Sociologists in Combined Undergraduate Departments

Pages 27-37 | Published online: 30 May 2013

Abstract

This study analyzes questionnaire data from social workers and sociologists who teach in combined undergraduate departments. Selected findings include: (1) members of both disciplines generally prefer working together, with the exception of social workers from relatively larger departments; (2) social workers active in research generally prefer combined departments more than nonresearchers; (3) preference toward working together or apart appears to influence the respondent's perception of departmental interactions.
