Social Policy and Clinical Social Work Education: Clinicians as Social Policy Practitioners

Abstract

This paper examines several ways in which clinicians can choose to be involved in social policy as extensions of their clinical practice roles. Material related to the situational components of practice, the key concepts of operationalizing, implementing, and promoting change is stressed, as well as the possible role of social science theory in affecting the policy concerns of who gets what and how.
