Abstract
A workshop on VITESS 2 and other software packages for the simulations of neutron scattering instruments was held at Hahn-Meitner-Institut Berlin from June 25–27, 2001. The simulation program “Virtual Instrumentation Tool for ESS (European Spallation Source),” VITESS, can be generally used for Monte Carlo simulations of neutron scattering instruments at pulsed and continuous sources (http://www.hmi.de/ projects/ess/vi tesd).
