Pages 26-32 | Published online: 02 Apr 2010

Abstract

The article presents the preliminary findings of a school-based primary intervention containing both literacy and behavioral components for at-risk elementary school students. Results suggest that all students, regardless of level of risk, improved in reading, but significant changes in risk status were not evident. Limitations of this investigation are discussed and directions for future school-based interventions are provided.
