Abstract
Mineralogical properties that can affect the biological activities of crystalline silica include structure, composition, and surface properties. To understand mineral-induced pathogenesis in a mechanistic way, these properties must be linked to biochemical processes. This article discusses some of these links and possible strategies for elucidating other links. Guthrie, Jr., G.D.: Mineralogical Factors Affect the Biological Activity of Crystalline Silica. Appl.
