Abstract
There is much texture one can bring to the subject of ghosts in middle childhood. Dr. Coates and Dr. Schlesinger elucidate aspects of the intergenerational relational struggles that inform child and adult therapists alike. Dissociated past trauma transmitted between parents and children implicitly creates secondary disorganizing interferences to the relationship and the child's development. The play therapist is in a unique position to create collaborative dialogues for the purposes of bringing systemic change.
