Imagine there are no therapy brands, it isn’t hard to do

Il commentary di Hofman, a partire dalla metanalisi di Cuijpers (2018) che confronta differenti modelli di trattamento. Tutti i trattamenti sono moderatamente efficaci senza vincitori né vinti. Si tratta di un'ulteriore conferma che il Verdetto di Dodo è ancora valido. Tuttavia, ciò non significa che tutti i trattamenti funzionano allo stesso modo attraverso meccanismi comuni e aspecifici (Wampold & Imel, 2015). Differenti strategie conducono a simili esiti. A tal proposito è importante studiare il processo attraverso cui un trattamento funziona al fine di identificare i meccanismi centrali di cambiamento terapeutico. Questo pone una riflessione riguardo alla necessità del tailoring del trattamento. La domanda centrale è: “Quali processi centrali bio-psico-sociali dovrebbero essere ottenuti con questo cliente considerata la sua situazione, e come tale obiettivo può essere ottenuto in modo efficace ed efficiente?” (Hofmann & Hayes, 2019, p. 47).
